Juices

member blog recipes snacks Feb 04, 2025

My sister is an expert when it comes to juices and smoothies! Whenever she comes to stay with me the first thing she does in the morning is make a fresh juice. She gave me the two recipes below. The Mango & Berry Juice is bursting with antioxidants, which are thought to promote anti-aging processes in the body.

The Apple & Ginger Juice has anti-inflammatory properties and I believe it reduces stress on my muscles and joints after bouts of heavy training.
Ideally, you should use a juicer for these recipes. Sometimes I use a regular blender to make juices.

Whatever equipment you use, store homemade juices in airtight glass containers in the fridge. Drink homemade juices the same day you make them so that you maximise their nutritional benefits.

Mango & Berry

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 mangos, peeled, stoned and roughly chopped
  • 150g blueberries
  • 150g strawberries
  • 60ml water (plus extra, if you like a thinner juice)

Method:

  1. Pass all of the fruit through a juicer. Stir in the water.
  2. Pour the juice into tall glasses and serve at once. Otherwise, store the juice in an airtight glass container in the fridge.

Apple & Ginger

Ingredients:

  • 10–12 apples
  • a thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, peeled

Method:

  1. Pass the apples and ginger through a juicer.
  2. Pour the juice into tall glasses and serve at once. Otherwise, store the juice in an airtight glass container in the fridge.
